Don't worry, I know what you're thinking. "What does five stand for??" Well, it's rather simple really, it's the number of major things that have happened since my last post on here. Yea yea, so it isn't the greatest title ever, but feel free to stop reading if it's bothering you.
So lets start with number 1. The biggest thing that has happened is.......stupid Facebook has decided to combine their messaging and chat systems into one. I don't know, maybe it isn't that important, but I bet there are a few people out there that agree with me when I say that sometimes upgrading isn't helping.
So getting to the more important things in life other than Facebook, and the 2nd major thing that has happened/is happening is the NBA Finals. Dallas Mavericks and the Miami Heat. I'm a Heat fan, have been for years, so yes, I do love the fact that you hate me. Truth be told, there are only a hand full (handfull? handful?) of NBA fans whose opinions I actually care about. I predicted Heat in 6 or 7 games. Tonight's game 4 will go a long way in determining the winner, but I am leaning towards 6 games over 7.
Third, the NFL Lockout is still in place. Raise your hand if you remember the 20 hours that it was actually lifted. I've never doubted that there will be some type of season this year, but with the recent events and court rulings, I have my concerns that there will be a full season. I am personally predicting a 10-12 game season. With that being said, flashback to 5 years ago and imagine Randy Moss, Terrell Owens, and Plaxico Burress all free agents, who would have thought there would be such an elite class of receivers. Flashback to today, and imagine Terrell Owens being the top option of those guys, and he is gonna be 38 before the season is over. Anyway, like the majority of other males over 18, I wish owners and players would get their act together and get the season going.
Fourth, my best friend Erik (whose name has been changed to protect him lol) got married a little over a week ago. I was the best man, and boy was that a hectic weekend. But you know what, I wouldn't change it for anything. (And that isn't true, after a discussion with Erik, I think I would have traded it for as low as $100,000.00). He's Jewish, so for those that don't know, when you get married you get to step on a glass and have other people raise you up while you sit in a chair. It was a pretty pimp wedding except for the fact that I am terrible at giving speeches and I got to give a speech.
Fifth, and possibly the biggest thing that has happened since my last post, I am for sure moving to Arizona later this year. Right now my date is August 21st, but that could always change and get bumped up. I thought a lot of people knew, but apparently not, so I figured I would write about it. People always ask me why I want to leave, and I always say the same thing. It is gonna put me in a great position to further my poker career, and at the same time it gives me a fresh start somewhere else. Then those same people always say, it's gonna be a lot different than here, and all I can think is, well no duh ya idiot, if I wanted to live in a place like this I wouldn't move.
And on that note, it is amazing how many people think I will fail at playing poker professionally. Who knows, maybe I will, but at least I can say I tried to achieve my dream. Can you say that???
